Service protocol – template and checklist

A clear service protocol gives the customer confidence and the workshop a clear record. Here's what a protocol template should contain and how to fill it in and send it digitally.

What is a service protocol?

A service protocol documents what was checked and fixed on a vehicle or body build. It shows the result per check point and serves as proof and history towards the customer.

What a service-protocol template should contain

Beyond the check points themselves:

  • Vehicle, reg. number and customer
  • Date and performed by
  • Check points with result (OK / not OK / not applicable)
  • Remarks per point
  • Actions and recommendations
  • Meter reading where relevant
  • Signature

From paper protocol to digital

In Fitout you build your own protocol templates, fill them in on the shop floor and email a finished protocol to the customer. Deviations can become a service job right away – and everything is kept as history per vehicle.
